Monster Hunter Wilds Removes Gender-Locked Armor

-

In Monster Hunter Wilds, players can now mix and match armor pieces from both genders on any character they create.

During the recent developer livestream at Gamescom, Capcom revealed this exciting feature by showing a character wearing a combination of male and female armor pieces. This marks a significant change because, in previous Monster Hunter games, armor designs were gender-specific. Although both male and female versions of each armor set will still exist, players are no longer restricted to one based on their character’s gender.

This update effectively doubles the cosmetic choices available to players. Previously, in games like Monster Hunter World, changing your character’s appearance or gender required a voucher, with only one free voucher available as DLC. If you wanted more, you’d have to pay real money or start a new character. Now, you can enjoy greater freedom in customizing your armor sets based purely on visual preference.

Monster Hunter Wilds is scheduled for release in 2025 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. The game also premiered a new story trailer during Gamescom Opening Night Live, showcasing new monsters and companions.

We think this change will make creating unique looks even more fun for fans.

Imagine the possibilities when you’re no longer limited by gender-specific armor designs!
