2K Sports is introducing a brand-new feature called Gravity Ball to NBA 2K25, but it’ll set you back a few bucks.
So, what exactly is Gravity Ball? Imagine a futuristic, low-gravity world where teams of three or five race around gathering balls to score points. This mode, nestled within NBA 2K25’s The City, promises a thrilling online multiplayer experience. If you’re curious, you can check out the announcement video below for a sneak peek of the action.
Visual Concepts South, the creative minds behind NBA 2K25’s go-kart racing game, The Track, have crafted Gravity Ball. Initially just a side project, it blossomed into something bigger and is now being sold as part of the game. Unlike The Track, which was free, Gravity Ball has a price tag.
Visual Concepts president Greg Thomas describes the game as “a mashup of American-Gladiators-meets-futuristic-basketball-meets-paintball,” adding, “Pure off-the-walls mayhem. We’ve had so much fun playing amongst ourselves, we knew we needed to find a way to share it with you. Leveraging NBA 2K25’s platform has given us that opportunity.”
People love when creators get to show their passion projects to the world.
Thomas expressed the team’s excitement at bringing something fresh and fun to the players, emphasizing the importance of giving their unique project a chance to shine instead of letting it gather dust.
Gravity Ball will be up for grabs on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC this Friday, October 18, for $8. Sadly, those with PS4, Xbox One, or Switch will miss out on this one.
