Get ready, Dying Light fans, because something exciting might be revealed at Gamescom Opening Night Live on August 20.
Geoff Keighley hinted at a new game in the zombie series, especially after a recent filing with the US Patent and Trademark Office. Keighley posted a short live-action clip on X with the message: “The Beast Is Coming.” This mention of “The Beast” is interesting since a trademark for Dying Light: The Beast was filed on August 12.
In the teaser, a woman is seen enjoying a forest, but things quickly turn dark and bloody. At the end, she desperately pleads, “Please, help me,” before being dragged away. When someone commented on X that they dislike live-action trailers, Keighley responded: “I’d tune in then.”
Fans often get excited about potential sequels. Last year, Tymon Smektała asked what people wanted in Dying Light 3 through a poll on X but clarified it wasn’t an official announcement. The latest game in the series was Dying Light 2: Staying Alive, which came out in early 2022.
Besides the potential Dying Light announcement, Gamescom will also feature Indiana Jones and the Great Circle and Kingdom Come: Deliverance II at 11 AM PT / 2 PM ET. But don’t expect to see Hollow Knight: Silksong there; Keighley confirmed it won’t be part of the event.
