EA Sports just revealed NHL 25, and it’s got three cover stars for the first time ever: the Hughes brothers.
Jack and Luke from the New Jersey Devils, and Quinn from the Vancouver Canucks, are on the Deluxe Edition cover. Jack is on the standard cover in the US, while Quinn gets it for Canada and worldwide. Poor Luke, though, doesn’t get a solo cover.
“We feel incredibly honored to be on the cover of NHL 25,” Quinn shared. “Being featured alongside my brothers is the sort of thing you dream about as a kid but could never imagine happening in real life.”
Jack chimed in: “It reminded us that on the ice, we’re competitors, always learning from each other, but off the ice, we’re brothers who love to play hockey.”
Luke added his thoughts too: “We have a one-of-a-kind hockey story growing up together and now a one-of-a-kind cover. We can’t wait for fans to experience NHL 25.”
NHL 25 introduces new features like a “logic-driven animation system,” Next-Gen Vision Control for better skating mechanics, and improved AI for more realistic gameplay. There are also fresh “Reactive Actions” animations for critical moments.
NHL 25 also has a new skill-based system for one-timers that will reward players for setting up plays properly. Additionally, there’s a unified XP progression system shared across multiple modes.
The game uses Sapien Technology to create better-looking hair and beards and more realistic jersey movements during games.
And in a change fans might be excited about, Franchise mode gets more attention in NHL 25 with the new Franchise Hub aiming to make it easier to access.
NHL 25 releases on October 4 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S (it’s not coming to last-gen platforms this year), with EA Vancouver and EA Bucharest once again handling development.
People who preorder the Deluxe Edition ($100) will get seven-day early access starting September 27 plus various in-game extras.
Another thing to know about NHL 25 is that EA Play members get a 10-hour free trial; Game Pass Ultimate members can also access this trial since EA Play is included.
We can’t wait to see what else EA has planned!
