No Man’s Sky Aquarius Update Adds Crucial Feature

-

No Man’s Sky has a new free update that finally lets players fish.

The Aquarius update, launching with patch 5.10, brings fishing into the game. The description says, “Players can now explore the universe to find their perfect waterside spot, hopping with fish. Sit and relax alone with your thoughts, or stand alongside fellow Travellers as you look out over alien vistas waiting for a bite.”

Players can now add a fishing rig to their multi-tool and fish in any water they find. There are over 160 different kinds of fish, and some only show up at certain times or in specific weather. You can fish from the shore or take an Exo-Skiff into deeper waters to find unique creatures.

Using regular bait will catch common fish, but special bait can attract rare and even legendary fish. Players might also find messages in bottles with info about previous fishers.

Fish can be cooked and eaten, and the update introduces new recipes. The Wonders Catalogue now has a fishing section showing off your catches, their weights, and tips on catching specific types.

With the Aquarius update, players can set up floating fish farms that work while they’re busy elsewhere. A new event, the Aquarius expedition, starts today, September 4, and runs for six weeks. Completing it will unlock boat parts, an underwater jetpack, and a cool fishing rod called the Lost Angler.

We love how this adds more depth to the game!
