Starting in 2025, Nvidia’s GeForce Now service will introduce a monthly playtime limit for its users.
Nvidia shared on their official blog that new subscribers will be restricted to 100 hours of gaming each month, beginning January 1st. They’re also rebranding the Priority membership to Performance, with no change in pricing. Excitingly, the Performance tier will now support 1440p streaming, ultrawide screens, and let you save graphics settings across sessions.
Subscribers who already have Performance or Ultimate plans, or join before 2025 ends, will only face the 100-hour limit starting January 1, 2026. Nvidia mentioned that only a small fraction, 6%, of users surpass this limit. Additionally, subscribers can roll over 15 unused hours monthly. If you play more than 100 hours, you can buy extra 15-hour chunks to keep gaming.
The 100-hour cap aims to keep membership fees steady “for the foreseeable future.” To sweeten the deal, Nvidia is offering a 25% discount on Ultimate and Performance day passes until November 22. Those passes can be upgraded to longer memberships, allowing you to enjoy a year without the hour limit.
Sometimes, fans feel excited about new changes like these because they add something fresh.
