Ori Dev’s New Game No Rest For The Wicked Release Delayed

-

Ah, the buzz around “No Rest for the Wicked” has been palpable. You know, that game from the folks at Moon Studios who gave us Ori? Yeah, that one. Well, it’s hit a snag. Originally, we were all set to dive into early access later this year. But, you know how it goes.

Cue the dramatic pause. The delay news dropped via Take-Two’s earnings report. And not just anywhere, but in a report picked up by IGN. Now, we’re looking at a “Q1 Fiscal 2025” release. That’s a fancy way of saying April, May, or June of 2024. So, yeah, a bit of a wait, but just a few months.

Now, onto something a bit off-topic but kinda related. Ever tried watching a game trailer on an old browser? It’s like trying to run a marathon with your shoelaces tied together. Anyway, this game’s trailer? Yeah, you’ll need a modern, html5-capable browser to catch it. And, oh boy, if your file format’s all wrong, forget about it.

And, uh, there’s this odd bit where you can’t watch unless you enter your birthdate. Like, every single time. Sure, it’s all “Terms of Use” and “Privacy Policy,” but come on. Just let me watch the trailer already!

Speaking of the trailer, it’s out there. “No Rest for the Wicked – Official Reveal Trailer” is what they’re calling it. Now Playing. Or not, depending on your browser, I guess.

But let’s get back on track. The big cheese at Take-Two, Strauss Zelnick, spilled the beans on why the delay. It’s all about polish, you see. They want this game to shine, to be the “best bet” it can be. An “even more amazing experience for consumers,” he says. Sounds good, right?

The game first made waves at The Game Awards in 2023. It’s set in this fictional kingdom, the year 841, to be exact. Drama unfolds as a king kicks the bucket, sparking a battle for his throne. And as if that’s not enough, there are monsters at the gates. Classic, right?

Here’s the kicker: “No Rest for the Wicked” isn’t just going solo. It’s rolling out the red carpet for up to four players in online co-op. And it’s hitting PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S after a stint in PC-only early access. So, yeah, there’s that to look forward to. Eventually.
