Overwatch 2 Halloween Mode Transforms Heroes for Intense PvP

-

Just in time for Halloween, Overwatch 2 Season 13 is arriving with a spooky twist called Spellbinder.

Blizzard is bringing a new PvP game mode called Junkenstein’s Laboratory. This mode will change how heroes like Reinhardt, Moira, and Mercy use their abilities in quick team deathmatches. Blizzard mentioned in a blog post that these spooky ability changes will “challenge even the most seasoned players.” The fun starts on October 15 and ends on November 4, but we still don’t know exactly how each hero’s abilities will change.

For those who enjoy playing against the computer, older Halloween events like Junkenstein’s Revenge and Wrath of the Bride will return for the season, bringing new bosses, enemies, and challenges, says Blizzard.

Season 13 also has something special—a new Mythic skin for Widowmaker called Spellbinder. As you level up this skin, Widowmaker transforms from “a potions apprentice” to “a full-blown master of the dark arts,” mixing witchy magic with dark, fancy style. Like other Mythic skins, it will have unique animations and visual changes as it levels up.

Fans think it’s super cool when games do fun crossovers!

Also during Season 13, starting October 17, the My Hero Academia collaboration will be available, offering Legendary skins inspired by the anime until October 30. These skins change Overwatch heroes into characters like All Might for Reinhardt and Deku for Tracer.

Last season, Blizzard introduced a new support hero named Juno, along with a World of Warcraft 20th anniversary event that turned Overwatch 2 characters into famous Warcraft heroes.

On a different note, there was once a plan for a mobile version of Overwatch, as revealed in the book Play Nice: The Rise, Fall, and Future of Blizzard Entertainment, though whether it is still being developed or quietly dropped remains unknown.
