Overwatch 2 WoW Crossover: Fight for Horde or Alliance

-

Overwatch 2 is gearing up for a special event to mark World of Warcraft’s 20th anniversary.

The event trailer whisks viewers through Blizzard World, showcasing Overwatch heroes dressed as WoW characters. Reinhardt appears as the Lich King, Widowmaker as Sylvanas, Zenyatta as Thrall, and Torbjorn as Magni Bronzebeard. Although specifics are sparse before the September 17 launch, these themed skins are confirmed.

Blizzard has announced that players can choose to represent either the Horde or the Alliance during the event.

“Join the celebration as Overwatch 2 and World of Warcraft unite the realms for a legendary crossover event,” states the trailer. “Choose to represent the Horde or the Alliance as the mighty heroes of Overwatch honor the iconic characters from the world of Azeroth.”

Interestingly, this isn’t the first time WoW-themed skins have been available in Overwatch. Previously, there were skins like Doomfist as Blackhand, Genji as Illidan Stormrage, and Symetra with Blood Elf and Night Elf leader Tyrande Whisperwind skins. Torbjorn already had a Magni Bronzebeard skin, but now he gets a new look as the diamond “Speaker of Azeroth”.

The last crossover event featured Diablo 4, with a PvE mode where players faced enemies like Azmodan Wrecking Ball, Butcher Roadhog, and Lilith Moira.

We love seeing these crossovers; they make the game more exciting.

For WoW’s 20th anniversary, Blizzard plans to release a big update later this year, filled with nostalgic activities and rewards. Overwatch 2 also introduced a new support hero named Juno recently.
