Path of Exile 2 is gearing up to offer an early access adventure with three acts and tons of endgame thrills.
Embark on this journey solo, or invite up to five others to join you, crafting a party that suits your taste. While tackling the logistics of assembling your crew might seem daunting, we’ve got all the details you need to simplify adding friends and forming a party in this epic game.
Adding Buddies in Path of Exile 2
Inviting friends is straightforward. Just grab their username and tag number, and you’re all set. The game supports cross-play, so it doesn’t matter what system your friend is on. To send a friend request, hit the Social tab (default key ‘J’), navigate to “Friends,” and enter the details. Type the username and the number after the “#” sign into the “Friend Invite” box, then click “Send.” Your friend will find the request in their Social tab.
You can also peek at your incoming friend requests under “Invitations Received” in the same “Friends” section. The Social menu might look a bit different if you’re using a controller instead of a keyboard, but it functions the same. Already in a Guild? Switch tabs to check out the “Guild” section, where you can chat and invite fellow guild members to join your party. If you haven’t joined a Guild yet, this is the place to view invites or join one.
Party Up in Path of Exile 2
Once your friend list is sorted, it’s time to gather everyone into a party. Here’s how:
– Head to the “Create Party” tab in the Social menu.
– Choose to either create a new party or join an existing one.
– If creating, invite online friends or open your party to the public.
– Set restrictions if needed—like friends only or invite only.
– You’ll get a notification when someone joins, allowing you to meet up in-game.
– To join a party, opt for public ones unless you have a specific invite.
– For a friend’s party, click their name in your list, and join if it’s open. Otherwise, wait for an invite if it’s invite-only.
It’s always a smart move to check the Social menu for any pending requests or invites.
Couch Co-op Fun in Path of Exile 2
Playing with someone right next to you? Path of Exile 2 has got you covered with couch co-op. You’ll need two controllers since dual keyboard and mouse setups aren’t supported. Connect both controllers, head to the character selection screen, and make sure your input is set to “Controller” via the settings cog in the top-left. Each player then selects a character, with Player 1 on the left and Player 2 on the right. If you don’t see the option for Player 2, make sure the second controller is properly connected. With both characters ready, dive into the game together on a split-screen!
Cross-Play Settings in Path of Exile 2
Though cross-play is fully enabled for PS5, Xbox, and PC, some players may wish to limit interactions to their specific platform. Unfortunately, there’s no direct option in the game to toggle this feature. It might become available later, but for now, console users can adjust cross-play settings through their system’s “Account and Network” settings. PC gamers, however, don’t have this choice just yet.
Sometimes, we just want to play with those closest to us, even in a big gaming world.
