Path Of Exile 2 Hits 1 Million Early Access Players, Server Issues Expected

-

Just before the servers are set to start, over a million people have bought early access to Path of Exile 2, which is more than the creators, Grinding Gear Games, ever thought possible.

, the Path of Exile team openly shared about the game’s current state. Jonathan Rogers, the director, mentioned in a video, “There are probably going to be some queues during the launch weekend.”

As more people download Path of Exile 2, Rogers explained they’ve gotten more cloud resources. Yet, he is unsure about how the servers will handle the player surge. “We never expected things to go this big during [early access],” he admitted.

Starting today, December 6, at 11 AM PT / 2 PM ET, players can dive into Path of Exile 2. The early access costs $30 on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S, and the full game is expected to drop in 2025.

We sometimes wonder why things get delayed, but it seems like server issues were the reason Path of Exile 2’s early access was pushed from mid-November.

A cool thing for console gamers is the couch co-op feature with cross-progression. For more details, check out GameSpot’s guide on cross-play and cross-save for Path of Exile 2.
