After four years of being a spooky thrill on PC, Phasmophobia has finally made its way to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, bringing screams and laughs to console players.
Released back in September 2020 and quickly earning the title of Best Debut Game, Phasmophobia now supports cross-play, allowing friends on different systems to ghost hunt together. Alongside its console debut, the game introduced the Crimson Eye update, offering a seasonal event, bug fixes, and improvements.
In a recent blog post, the game’s creators explained, “Last October, ghost hunters summoned the Blood Moon using a mysterious cauldron. This year, the Blood Moon is back and bigger than ever.” Players are encouraged to explore haunted places, complete tasks, and snap photos of Blood Altars for rewards, but beware—ghosts are stronger during the Blood Moon.
To access the Blood Moon and future events, you’ll need to be online, even when playing solo. This requirement helps Kinetic Games manage technical aspects and event progress smoothly.
The Crimson Eye update also introduced an Event Board in the Warehouse, showcasing current challenges and events for players to track. New challenges like the Ranger Challenge and Sunny Meadows Survival await brave ghost hunters.
Small improvements make the game more enjoyable: doors won’t push players around or come off hinges anymore, and low frame rate issues have been tackled with solid fixes. No more falling through the floor!
