Mark your calendars because Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is set to drop on October 25.
Some players are so eager to dive into the game that they might try a sneaky strategy to play before it’s officially out in their area by pretending to be in New Zealand. For years now, fans have fooled their consoles into thinking they’re living in the land of kiwis, but this trick doesn’t seem to work for those playing on a PC unless they use some sort of VPN magic.
thinks this trick should still work this year, though PlayStation folks might find it a bit troublesome. You’ll have to make a special New Zealand PSN account, download the game, and then do it all over again for your real region. Xbox players, however, have it easier on their side of the fence.
Xbox:
- Turn on your Xbox and go to Settings
- Choose “System”
- Find “Language and Location”
- Set location to New Zealand
- Restart your Xbox
- Launch Black Ops 6 and enjoy!
PlayStation:
- Visit the Call of Duty website
- Sign into your Call of Duty account
- Go to your profile, click “Basic Info”
- Put in a New Zealand address
- Save and load up Black Ops 6
PSA FOR PLAYSTATION PLAYERS:
DONT pre-load the Black Ops 6 packs if you want to play early
Wait until the game is live in New Zealand and open the game on a NZ PSN account to download the packs.
You can then change location to NZ on your main ATVI account and play on your main— Sam (@xFleXy_)
People sometimes go to great lengths just to play a game a few hours earlier, and it shows how excited we get for something we love.
There’s also a heads-up from the streamer
for PlayStation users: don’t preload the game packs too soon. Wait for the New Zealand launch time, then use a New Zealand PSN account to grab the packs.
Starting October 21, everyone can preload Black Ops 6, but remember that launch times will vary slightly between different platforms. If you’re gaming on a PC, make sure to check out the special features and hardware needs for Black Ops 6.
