Sony just dropped a new PS5 update, bringing in a Welcome Hub with a customizable background and more.
The Welcome Hub is like your personal gaming space, letting you tweak widgets to show what you care about the most. Want to quickly check your console storage, Trophies, or battery levels? You got it. If you’re in the US, this new Hub will replace the Explore tab. Other regions like Japan and some European countries will see it soon, then it will roll out worldwide.
You can also pick a background for your Welcome Hub, either from preset options or by using a screenshot from your Media Gallery. In the next few weeks, the PS5 will allow you to share party voice chat links on any messaging or social media app. This means you can invite friends to join a voice chat party, even if they aren’t on your PlayStation Network friend list. They can join the party on their PS5 or through the PlayStation App on their phones.
Fans love having more control over their gaming experience.
Back in July, Sony was testing new features like personalized 3D audio profiles, remote play options, and adaptive controller charging. These features are now available globally. However, keep in mind that adaptive controller charging is only for the PS5 Slim and the newly announced PS5 Pro.
