Remedy & Annapurna Expand Control & Alan Wake Franchises

-

Remedy Entertainment has teamed up with Annapurna to bring us Control 2.

Years ago, Remedy created a buzz with Control, but had to partner with 505 Games to get it published. Fast forward to now, and Remedy’s collaboration with Annapurna promises not just a sequel, but also potential TV shows and movies based on Control and Alan Wake. According to Remedy’s site, the new deal allows them to co-finance and self-publish Control 2, ensuring the game will be exactly what they envision. No extra details on the game were given yet.

Hector Sanchez, president of Interactive and New Media at Annapurna, believes this partnership can push Remedy’s games into new territories.

“This deal with Remedy isn’t just about adapting great games–it’s about breaking new ground in how companies can collaborate,” Sanchez said. “By backing Remedy’s move toward self-publishing, we’re putting our faith in their vision. We know from experience that Remedy is a first-class games development partner, and we’re excited to share their work with an even wider audience by bringing the Control and Alan Wake universes to film, television and beyond.”

We think this could be really exciting for fans of both games!

No dates have been mentioned for when we might see these potential Alan Wake or Control adaptations. Control 2 still doesn’t have a release date either. Besides that, Remedy is busy working on other projects too. They’re remaking Max Payne 1 & 2 and have a multiplayer game called Condor in the pipeline.
