RetroRealms Halloween Evil Dead Bundle 16-Bit Side-Scroller Discount on Amazon

-

Horror fans who love old-school games can snag a cool deal on RetroRealms Arcade Double Feature at Amazon. This new collection by WayForward turns two famous scary stories, Halloween and Ash vs Evil Dead, into fun, retro-style action games with 16-bit graphics. The regular version is now just $30, down from $50, for Switch, PS5, PS4, and Xbox. The Special Edition is $70 instead of $80, available for Switch, PS5, and Xbox, but only Amazon has them all. For example, the PS5 Special Edition is sold out everywhere but there.

The Special Edition is packed with goodies like a Michael Myers plush, a box that looks like an old VHS tape, a poster, trading cards, and two extra characters you can play with. The regular version only has the trading cards. If you bought it right after it came out, it came with the extra characters, but now you’re not guaranteed to get them unless you’re lucky.

People sometimes feel like they are on a treasure hunt when looking for these special deals.

If you miss out on the Special Edition or don’t get lucky, the extra characters cost $5 each. You can play as Laurie Strobe from Halloween or Kelly Maxwell from Ash vs Evil Dead, and they each have their own moves and stories that are different from Michael Myers and Ash Williams.

RetroRealms might not be the most famous game out there, but for those who enjoy pixelated horror and nostalgia, it’s a gem. It scored a strong 8/10 in our review, praised for its great design, smooth controls, and awesome 16-bit look. You play these games by going up to their arcade machines in a 3D world, and more games are expected to be added later. It’s like a horror universe that’s just getting started!

WayForward, the game creator, is known for making fun games in different styles, especially side-scrolling ones. They’re famous for the Shantae series and other games like River City Girls and The Mummy Demastered. Boss Team Games, who published RetroRealms, also worked on a multiplayer Evil Dead game in 2022. Now, they’re making a bigger Halloween game with help from John Carpenter, who directed the original movie.
