Roblox Limits Kids in Social Hangouts

-

Roblox, a super famous gaming site, often gets blamed for not keeping kids safe from online dangers.

On the official developer forum, it was announced that kids under 13 can’t use unrated games or join social hangouts anymore. Only those 13 and up can do that now.

People wonder if this change will stop bad guys from bothering kids on Roblox. It’s all about whether these new rules work. Earlier this year, Bloomberg shared that Roblox told the police about more than 13,000 cases of kids being targeted in 2023. Over 24 people were caught for bad stuff after chatting with kids there. Roblox said this didn’t show how big the problem is, given how many people use Roblox. They’ve been working with the police to stop illegal actions.

Sometimes, we just hope these things make a difference.

Starting December 3, younger players will face new restrictions. Right now, users rate the games, but Roblox plans to handle this when new games come out.
