Romancing SaGa 2: Revenge of the Seven is now cheaper for PS5 at Amazon and Walmart.
Released last month, this amazing remake of a classic game is now just $42.31, down from its original price of $50. While you can also find the game for Nintendo Switch, the big savings are only for the PS5 version. The Switch version has a tiny discount of 5% on Amazon, making it $47.49, which doesn’t feel like much of a bargain. Meanwhile, other Square Enix games are seeing better deals, like Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, which is $30 off, and Octopath Traveler 2, available for $25 on both PS5 and Switch. If you’re into JRPGs, you might want to check out Metaphor: ReFantazio from Atlus, as it’s on sale too.
People love snagging these deals, especially when their favorite games get cheaper.
Romancing SaGa 2 has been given a fresh look and feel from its 1993 version. Now with full 3D graphics and a revamped battle system, it brings in new mechanics like the “timeline” system seen in recent SaGa titles. New players will find it more welcoming thanks to added features like different difficulty levels. For those preferring to play on a PC or Steam Deck, Green Man Gaming has a special offer where members can get the game for $40, a 20% discount. To access this, you need to join their free XP rewards program and make a purchase first. Sometimes, being a member means you get even better deals than non-members.
Square Enix has been busy reviving the SaGa series with new entries and remasters, like SaGa Emerald Beyond that came out in April. If you’re a fan, you can find great deals on Steam keys for these games, especially if you’re part of GMG’s XP program. SaGa Emerald Beyond is priced at $25 for members, while others pay $30.
Originally branching from Final Fantasy, the SaGa series quickly became its own thing. With its unique non-linear storytelling and complex character-building, it stood out from other 90s games. Romancing SaGa 2 lets players step into the shoes of a royal family, defending their empire from great dangers. Building castles and making choices that impact the story are key parts of the game. It’s a wide-open adventure that lets you explore different paths each time you play. This remake is perfect for trying something new or revisiting for a different storyline.
SaGa fans can also look forward to preordering Romancing SaGa: Minstrel Song Remastered International for PS5 and Switch. This remaster, which originally came out in 2022, will be available early next year, but we don’t have an exact date yet.
