Silent Hill 2 Remake Playthrough Times for All Styles

-

Silent Hill 2 Remake, just like its 2001 predecessor, is packed with hidden surprises if you’re ready to explore its eerie, mist-filled corners.

This game has more fighting and bigger areas, making it a bit tricky to leave the town quickly. The puzzles are more complicated now, and you’ll need to be patient. If you’re curious about how long it’ll take to finish, it really depends on whether you aim to uncover all eight endings and other secrets. But watch out, there are some light spoilers ahead!

Time to Finish Silent Hill 2

How long you spend in Silent Hill 2 depends on your curiosity. You might end up wandering around the town, looking for hidden spots and collecting items. In the beginning, when you have access to lots of places, this is especially true. Some of us at GameSpot played before it was released and found that a thorough first playthrough took about 17 to 19 hours. But if you’re not interested in all the hidden stuff and extra ammo, expect around 15-16 hours for your first adventure.

Once you finish Silent Hill 2 Remake, you can try New Game Plus, where you might find cool things like a chainsaw and unlock more endings. The puzzles stay the same, so you might move faster, but aiming for those new endings might take another 10-12 hours. There’s even a Trophy/Achievement for finishing in under 10 hours, which seems like a good target.

Some endings look at how you treat Maria or James’s health. But for other endings, you’ll need to find new items, adding more time to your game. There are two new endings, too, which weren’t in the original. So, if you want to see everything, you’ll be playing for quite a while.

Places in Silent Hill 2

The Silent Hill 2 Remake takes you through familiar places from the original, but they’re bigger and more detailed, making the game longer. Here are the main spots you’ll visit:

  1. East South Vale
  2. Wood Side Apartments
  3. Blue Creek Apartments
  4. West South Vale
  5. Brookhaven Hospital
  6. Toluca Prison
  7. The Labyrinth
  8. Lakeside Hotel

Sometimes, we just love getting lost in these spooky places.
