Silent Hill 2 Remake Trophy for Turning Back

-

James Sunderland, the main character of Silent Hill 2, is probably having second thoughts about going into a spooky town.

According to Automaton, players can earn a Trophy right at the beginning of the game when they take control of James. Although James can’t just hop back in his car and drive away, he can start walking in the opposite direction of Silent Hill. But don’t get too excited! This little detour doesn’t last long because an invisible wall stops him from going any further. When this happens, players get the “No Turning Back Now” achievement.

James ventured into Silent Hill because he received a letter from Mary, his wife who had passed away, suggesting she might be alive there. Smart folks blocked the main tunnel into Silent Hill, so James has to hike from the observation deck to confront his fears and maybe bump into Pyramid Head.

Fans sometimes feel like they want to turn back, but they keep going anyway.

Mark Delaney, in his GameSpot review, says the Silent Hill 2 remake is “a meticulous, loving, and stunning recreation of one of horror’s most significant efforts.” He also mentions that Bloober Team, the developers, managed to honor the original game while taking some smart risks. They had guidance from some of the original creators, too.

The deluxe version of Silent Hill 2 Remake is available now for PlayStation 5 and PC, with the standard edition coming out on October 8.
