Skyrim Grandma, 88, Retires from Gameplay Videos

-

Shirley Curry, known as Skyrim Grandma, has decided to stop making Skyrim videos after nine years.

In a heartfelt video, Curry explained her decision: “I’m just doing it for fun and it isn’t fun anymore,” she said. “I’m tired of it. I’m bored with it. I’m bored to death with it. So I am making the decision now, totally, finally. I am not going to be making any more game videos and uploading them.”

Even though Skyrim is off the table, Curry isn’t leaving YouTube for good. She wants to share videos about books she’s read, quilts she plans to make, and maybe even a book she might write. This isn’t shocking since she already reduced her video uploads in 2020, wanting to avoid negative comments and take care of her health.

Fans, we all need a break sometimes.

Curry’s love for Skyrim earned her many fans worldwide, including folks at Bethesda. In 2019, they announced she could appear as an NPC in The Elder Scrolls VI, letting her legacy live on in the game.
