Space Marine 2 Achieves Success with 4 Million Units Sold

-

Last month, 4.5 million copies of Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 were snapped up, according to

, which is quite a feat for the Saber Interactive game.

Tim Willits from Saber pointed out something interesting: “We don’t need to sell 4 million units to make it [Space Marine 2] a success,” he said. “There are many games, sadly, especially out of North American developers, where if you do not sell 5 million copies you are a failure. I mean, what business are we in where you fail if you sell less than 5 million?” It’s wild how some developers see success.

Space Marine 2 has been doing well with over 2 million players joining the battle on Steam, earning good reviews too. This is a big contrast compared to other famous games like Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League and Star Wars Outlaws, which didn’t have the best launches. Success can be such a rollercoaster ride.

This game isn’t just about playing alone; there are PvE and PvP modes to dive into after finishing the main story. A new update came out this week, bringing a fresh difficulty level, a photo mode, and lots of improvements.

Fans sometimes have strong opinions, and many didn’t like the latest changes. Update 4.0 made the parry timing for fencing weapons harder, weakened the basic Auspex Scan, and made the difficulty in Operations feel super tough.

Now, people are bombarding Steam with negative reviews because of these changes. Focus Entertainment promised to fix things soon. “We closely read your feedback regarding the latest patch for Space Marine 2 and we’re actively working on another one including balancing fixes,” they said on

. “It should release next week.”
