The release of Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl has arrived, but players should brace themselves for a few bumps along the way.
GSC Game World, the Ukrainian studio behind the game, shared a heartfelt note on
, calling this sequel a “love letter to Ukraine” despite the challenges of developing it amid the ongoing conflict. They were honest about the game’s initial state.

“Stalker 2 is a massive game,” they explained, acknowledging the rough patches due to its unprecedented scale for them.
Reviews, like the one from GameSpot, highlighted technical glitches, including visual bugs and crashes. Richard Wakeling from GameSpot mentioned that these issues disrupt the game’s intense atmosphere. In this first-person adventure, players navigate through a dangerous Chornobyl zone filled with mutants and anomalies.
GSC Game World promises to address these problems.
“We’re dedicated to listening to your feedback and resolving any issues quickly,” they assured. “We’ll be releasing hotfixes in the initial days, aiming for precision and speed.”
Over time, bigger updates and enhancements will be introduced, offering free content. The team plans to share a roadmap for Stalker 2 in December.
