Stardew Valley 1.6 Update: Fix Performance Issues by Removing Pet Hats

-

Stardew Valley’s new update 1.6.9 has just been released everywhere, and it seems like it’s causing some trouble for players.

With this update, players can now dress up their pets like cats, dogs, and horses in fun ways, but some say this is making the game slow down. Luckily, Eric “ConcernedApe” Barone, who made Stardew Valley, has a quick fix: just take off the hats from your pets for now.

Barone assured everyone he’s on it, working on a permanent solution. While you’d expect people to be mad about the glitch, many players are actually curious about the story behind it. Barone often makes bugs part of the game’s story, and fans love it.

People, we just love when creators turn mistakes into fun stories.

When asked by players about this bug, Barone shared that there’s a tale of a “weird rash” affecting pets’ ears in Zuzu City, so hats need to come off for a while to let them breathe.

There are other hiccups too, like chickens going missing. Barone hasn’t shared any chicken stories yet, but he made it clear that fixing these bugs comes first before he goes back to work on his next project, Haunted Chocolatier.
