Bethesda has shared exciting information about the first story expansion for Starfield, called Shattered Space.
In this DLC, players will visit a new planet named Va’ruun’kai, which is packed with over 50 places to discover. The expansion has a spooky, cosmic horror feel to it. You’ll face scary new enemies known as Redeemed/Vortex horrors and can make “organic” grenades from materials found on Va’runn’kai. Different groups like the Zealots, Spacers, and Crimson Fleet will also be on the planet.
Thank you to the millions of players who have made the Settled Systems their home and helped make this an incredible first year for @StarfieldGame.
We have much more coming, beginning with our first story expansion, Shattered Space, releasing September 30. Here’s a bit of what…
— Bethesda Game Studios (@BethesdaStudios)
Va’runn’kai is controlled by cultists who follow a creepy god called the Great Serpent. Before Shattered Space, nobody knew where the cult’s home planet was. In the main game, we only got small hints about what House Va’runn was doing, although Constellation member Andreja used to be part of the cult.
Fans are thrilled about the new content coming soon! More details about Shattered Space will be shared before its September 30 launch. You can pre-order it now for $30, or get it as part of the Starfield Premium Edition and its upgrade. In August, a free update introduced a moon-buggy vehicle called the Rev-8 and improved game performance with 60fps support on Xbox Series S. Back in May, the biggest update yet added tougher difficulty levels, fixed many bugs, and improved the planet maps.
