Steam Deck White OLED Edition: Price & Release Date Announced

-

Valve is about to release a new special edition of the Steam Deck, and it’s coming out really soon.

Starting November 18, the new Steam Deck OLED: Limited Edition White will be up for grabs. This special version has the same technical specs as the regular 1 TB OLED model, but now it shines in a fresh white-and-grey look. And guess what? It comes with a matching white carrying case and a white microfiber cloth, making it even cooler. If you’re itching to get your hands on one, mark your calendars for November 18 at 3 PM PT / 6 PM ET. The price tag? $680 USD.

Valve warns that there won’t be many available, so if they sell out, they’re gone for good. “Once we’re out, we’re out,” said a spokesperson. To snag this new Steam Deck, make sure you’ve bought something on Steam before November 2024, and you can only buy one per account. They’re spreading the stock fairly across all the regions where it’s being sold. It’s available in countries like the US, Canada, UK, Europe, Australia, Japan, Hong Kong, Taiwan, and South Korea.

Fans always love when there’s something new to look forward to.

Last year, Valve tried out a see-through Steam Deck OLED to see if people liked different colors. Turns out, they did, so now we have this white version coming. The see-through one was only in the US and Canada, but this white one is going everywhere you can buy a Steam Deck.

“We’re curious to see what the response is, and will use what we learn to inform future decisions about any potential new color variants down the line,” said Valve. The original Steam Deck came out in 2022 and became super popular because it’s like a portable gaming computer but feels like a game console. While it’s not the first of its kind, it might not be the last, as Microsoft is rumored to be working on its own handheld Xbox device.
