Recently, fans of JRPGs have had a lot of options with remakes and retro-themed games, and now Threads of Time is coming.
Threads of Time, developed by Riyo Games, was revealed at the Xbox Showcase during the Tokyo Game Show. It’s described as a spiritual follow-up to Chrono Trigger and looks a lot like Square Enix’s HD-2D games such as Live a Live and Octopath Traveler. The game will be available on PC and Xbox Series X|S.
The story in Threads of Time spans different time periods, from dinosaurs to the distant future. As players explore these times, they will uncover a story filled with connected destinies and secrets. There’s also an evil plot in the background, and players must gather a team to restore the ancient Time Knights and stop the impending danger.
Fans love time-travel stories.
Gameplay features include a lively turn-based combat system and abilities that manipulate time. Players can recruit friends from various eras to perform powerful combo attacks. Although there is no release date for Threads of Time yet, Xbox announced that Square Enix’s Trials of Mana and Legend of Mana are now on Game Pass to make the wait more bearable.
Additionally, the Final Fantasy 1-6 Pixel Remaster is now out for Xbox Series X|S and PC. Plus, Bandai Namco is set to release the Dragon Quest 3 HD-2D Remake on November 14.
