Subnautica 2 Announced: Four-Player Co-Op Coming 2025

-

In an exciting announcement, Unknown Worlds and Krafton revealed that Subnautica 2 is in the works, set to continue the adventure from the beloved survival game released in 2018.

The new game promises to be full of surprises and enchantment, and fans can dive into it through Steam Early Access, the Epic Games Store, and the Windows Store starting in 2025. It’ll also be available for Game Pass users right at launch.

This time, players will explore an entirely new ocean realm with colorful landscapes, mysterious creatures, and many secrets to uncover. You can play alone or with friends as you build and craft your way to survival in the eerie depths. Multiplayer mode allows up to four players to team up, share resources, and battle sea monsters together.

Subnautica 2’s early access release is a strategy by Unknown Worlds to gather player input, aiming to refine the game before its final release. While this is a direct sequel, let’s not forget the standalone spin-off, Subnautica: Below Zero, which came out in 2021.

Sometimes, we just can’t wait to see how our favorite games evolve!

The original Subnautica scored high marks, earning a 9/10 from GameSpot’s Brett Todd, who praised it as a fantastic way to experience the thrilling beauty and danger of the ocean.
