Take-Two CEO Acknowledges GTA 6 News Frustration

-

Grand Theft Auto VI is planned to hit the shelves in the next year, and the head honcho of Rockstar Games’ parent company has dropped some hints about what awaits fans.

In a chat with Conner Mather (

), Strauss Zelnick, the Take-Two boss, mentioned that the team at Rockstar Games is cooking up something so unexpected that it might even surprise those who think they’re ready for it. “Our teams are focused on what’s new that you haven’t even thought about. You thought you were anticipating this thing but this is way bigger and way better and more exciting and more beautiful than you could have possibly thought of,” he shared.

Zelnick also talked about how some fans are feeling a bit impatient because Rockstar is keeping details under wraps. But he said the company prefers to hold off until everything is just right before they launch a game. “I think [GTA VI] will be extraordinary and worth waiting for,” he added, saying he expects it to be “breathtaking.”

Fans, we always get a little antsy when waiting for something we love.

It’s kind of his job to make the games sound super awesome, so Zelnick’s words aren’t really shocking to anyone. He’s supposed to get everyone pumped up with fancy talk and marketing buzzwords.

Another funny thing from the interview was Zelnick mentioning he knows about the GTA VI memes like “We got ___ before GTA VI.” He said, “I’ve seen some of those.”

The plan is for GTA VI to come out in Fall 2025 on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. But, since every Rockstar game in the last ten years has been delayed, some think it might actually come out in 2026. Other game companies are even waiting to set dates for their own releases until Rockstar announces theirs.

There’s also a report saying that Rockstar is asking its writers to be kinder and not be mean to transgender people and other minorities in GTA VI.
