Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Tactical Turn-Based Game

-

A fresh Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles game, called Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Tactical Takedown, is going to be different from what fans are used to, shifting from their classic beat-em-up style to a strategic, turn-based adventure.

Crafted by Strange Scaffold, the creators of Space Warlord Organ Trading Simulator and I Am Your Beast, this game promises a fresh twist for the TMNT world. The story is unique, focusing on the turtles drifting apart as they face adulthood, with both Master Splinter and Shredder gone. It’s their first venture into tactical gameplay, making it an intriguing shift.

On the Steam page, it’s revealed that players will tackle 20 levels, split across four campaigns, each spotlighting a different turtle. The arenas will change every turn, growing or shrinking, with new dangers popping up. The visual style blends comic book art with mini-figurines and dioramas, and there’s a diverse soundtrack by RJ Lake to accompany the action.

The turtles’ moves can be customized to fit their fighting styles, and they’ll use the environment cleverly. Although it’s turn-based, the trailer shows them moving swiftly, bouncing around, and setting up attacks.

As of now, there’s no specific release date for TMNT: Tactical Takedown, and it’s only announced for PC. But who knows? That might change soon.

Fans sometimes feel excited when old favorites get a new twist.

Recently, the turtles have been quite active in gaming. They brought back their classic beat-’em-up action with TMNT: Shredder’s Revenge in 2022. Then, they released TMNT: The Cowabunga Collection, featuring 13 retro games. This year, two more games joined the lineup: the co-op roguelike TMNT: Splintered Fate and the action-packed TMNT: Mutants Unleashed, linked to the 2023 movie, TMNT: Mutant Mayhem.
