Recently, Tony Hawk dropped a hint about some exciting news with Activision for the 25th anniversary of the skateboarding franchise.
“I wish I could tell you more, but I can tell you that I have been talking to Activision again,” Hawk shared in a Mythical Kitchen video when asked about the future of the THPS series. “It’s insanely exciting. We’re working on something. It’ll be something the fans truly appreciate.”
His hints match up with the recent changes on the Tony Hawk Pro Skater social media pages. The new images there have a 2024 copyright, leading fans to wonder if we might see remasters of Tony Hawk Pro Skater 3 and 4. Back in 2022, Hawk mentioned that Vicarious Visions was working on those remasters before becoming part of Blizzard Entertainment.
“I mean that was the plan, you know, even up until the release date of this [THPS1+2] we were going 3 and 4, and then Vicarious got kind of absorbed, and then they were looking for other developers, and then it was over,” Hawk said at the time.
We all hope this anniversary brings some cool surprises for fans.
In the meantime, EA is also making waves in the skateboarding world with a new Skate game. The latest update featured a funny sketch with Tim Robinson, and developer Full Circle showed off new gameplay features like an updated Flick-it system, fresh soundtracks, and tons of ways to customize your skater in this live-service game.
