If things had gone as planned, Assassin’s Creed Shadows would be hitting our screens soon, but now it’s been postponed to the beginning of 2025.
In a recent twist of events, Ubisoft announced during a Discord Q&A session that the early access for Assassin’s Creed Shadows is off the table, as reported by Insider Gaming. They also scrapped the idea of season passes, leading to a price cut for the collector’s edition from $280 to $230. This special edition still includes goodies like a steelbook, artbook, and statue, though there might be some tweaks before everything’s finalized.
The delay seems to stem from challenges Ubisoft has faced with ensuring the game’s historical and cultural accuracy, according to some reports. Plus, Ubisoft Quebec wanted more time to refine the game, which makes sense because rushing things often leads to trouble.
Fans sometimes just have to wait a little longer for good things to happen.
There are whispers about the possibility of a co-op mode being added, allowing players to team up as Naoe and Yasuke, the main characters. But given the delay, who knows if this feature will be ready when the game finally drops.
Mark your calendars, folks! Assassin’s Creed Shadows is set to launch on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S on February 14, 2025.
