The new Season 5 Reloaded update for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone is live, adding new game modes, challenges, and a melee weapon.
How to unlock the spear
In Season 5 Reloaded, you can now wield a spear just like a Spartan. This weapon can be used to jab or thrown at enemies. You get three throwable spears per match, which you can retrieve after throwing.
The spear is unlocked through a bonus challenge sector in the battle pass, requiring completion of several tasks.
These challenges can be done in multiplayer, Zombies mode, or Warzone.
Sector 1 challenge: Get 10 operator or special zombies melee kills
Reward: Win it all – Large weapon decal
Sector 2 challenge: Get three operator or special zombies kills with throwing knives
Reward: Coined Champion – Emblem
Sector 3 challenge: Get three operator melee backstab kills or special zombies kills
Reward: 1-hour double XP token
Sector 4 challenge: Get three operator or special zombies with the butt of a gun
Reward: Overtime – Weapon sticker
Sector 5 challenge: Get five operator or special zombies crouched melee kills
Reward: Unlocks the spear melee weapon
To unlock the final sector for the spear, all previous sectors must be completed. Special zombies include Mimics, Manglers, and Disciples in Zombies mode.
Additional Zombies unlock method
Another way to get the spear is through exfil in Zombies mode. If your friend has the spear as their insured weapon, they can drop it for you at the start of a match. Successfully exfil with it to unlock it. This trick works for any weapon in the game.
Sometimes we just want to take on these challenges with our friends and have fun.
Store bundle
Usually, new DLC weapons are available through store bundles too. However, there’s no bundle for the spear yet. One might be released later.
