The release of Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 has been postponed once more, now aiming for early 2025.
Even though the game was close to its initial release date, Paradox and The Chinese Room decided to take extra time for improvements. “Though the game is in a good enough place that we could have maintained our planned release window, Paradox and The Chinese Room collaboratively decided to prioritize polish,” The Chinese Room shared in a statement on its website. “It will be used to create a quality assurance buffer, giving more time between testing and launch, ensuring we release the game when it’s ready. The extra time gives us an opportunity to adjust certain areas, such as Fabien, and incorporate other community feedback. It has been a long journey, but we’re near the final stages of development and will share the release date once we are confident with the game’s level of polish.”
Initially set for Q4 2024, Bloodlines 2 will now sidestep several major titles coming out during the holiday season like Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, Assassin’s Creed: Shadows, and Silent Hill 2. This move might help it avoid getting lost among these heavy hitters.
After being announced years ago, the game’s development faced many hurdles. It nearly got canceled when Hardsuit Labs was removed from the project following delays. Eventually, The Chinese Room took over and confirmed their leadership months later. They’ve been actively showcasing new features like a dynamic dialogue system that changes gameplay and sneak peeks into vampire clans such as Ventrue, Brujah, and Tremere.
Fans are excited but also anxious about these repeated delays.
