Warhammer 40,000 Space Marine 2 Breaks Franchise Records

-

Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 launched yesterday and shattered previous records.

According to PCGamesN, the co-op shooter had over 225,000 people playing at the same time on Steam, making it the most-played Warhammer game ever. The game reached a peak of 225,690 players, beating Total War: Warhammer 3’s highest count of 166,754, as noted by SteamDB.

Those who bought the Gold or Ultra editions started playing last week, and Focus Entertainment asked them not to spoil the story.

Space Marine 2 is also out on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, with cross-play available for the campaign between consoles and PC, but competitive PvP remains separate.

Fans often get really excited about new game releases.
