Watch Dogs Movie Completed After 10 Years

-

Filming for the Watch Dogs movie, based on the video game, is complete, according to Ubisoft and New Regency.

They celebrated by sharing a picture of director Mathieu Turi on set. Turi, known for his work with Quentin Tarantino on Inglourious Basterds and as the director of The Deep Dark and Hostile, has been at the helm.

Originally announced in 2013, the Watch Dogs movie faced several delays but finally started filming in early July and wrapped up quickly.

Tom Blyth, from the Hunger Games prequel The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes, and Sophia Wilde, from Talk to Me, will lead the cast.

Turi is also developing a TV series based on the Plague Tale games, staying true to his knack for video game adaptations.

The Watch Dogs movie was initially set up at Sony Pictures a year before the game series launched in 2014. The game series became a hit, spawning sequels set in cities like Chicago, San Francisco, and London, with themes of hacking and futuristic gadgets. However, the movie’s plot and setting remain a mystery.

Fans are always excited about new video game movies.

Other Ubisoft projects like Splinter Cell and The Division movies are still missing in action. One of Ubisoft’s notable successes was the 2016 Assassin’s Creed movie with Michael Fassbender, which made over $240 million worldwide.
