CD Projekt shared exciting news today: Project Polaris, the next installment in the Witcher series, is officially in full swing.
The game, often called The Witcher 4, has moved from planning to full production, according to game director Sebastian Kalemba. He expressed enthusiasm, saying, “With new challenges just around the corner, it’s the talented and hard-working people who make me believe we can together make the upcoming Witcher Saga a remarkable experience. No stopping now! Stay tuned for what’s on the other side of the coin!”
I’m thrilled to announce that Project Polaris has entered the full-scale production phase! With new challenges just around the corner, it’s the talented and hard-working people who make me believe we can together make the upcoming Witcher Saga a remarkable experience. No stopping…

At this point, most of the 650 people at CD Projekt are busy with Polaris, specifically 400 of them, which is a slight decrease from 410 back in July 2024.
They’re juggling other projects too! Orion is the next Cyberpunk game with 64 team members, while Sirius, a Witcher spin-off, has 32 folks on it. Meanwhile, Hadar, a new idea entirely, has 15 people dedicated to it, and others are helping with various projects and shared tasks. A visual showing these numbers is included below.
The details about The Witcher 4 remain scarce. Initially, in 2022, it was hinted it might arrive by 2025, but plans often change.
Geralt will appear, but he won’t be the main star this time. As joint-CEO Michał Nowakowski explained, it won’t just be “The Witcher 3 in new clothing.” They want it to be fresh and different from past games.
Also shared in the earnings report, Cyberpunk 2077 has reached 30 million copies sold, and its expansion, Phantom Liberty, has sold 8 million copies.
