Telltale Games recently put an end to rumors about The Wolf Among Us 2 being canceled.
So, here’s the scoop: Someone on Reddit stirred things up by saying the game might be in trouble because of money issues. That post vanished, but Telltale came out and squashed the gossip. “We usually ignore rumors and sketchy Reddit stuff, but hey, we’re still working on The Wolf Among Us 2,” they told Eurogamer. “We can’t wait to show you more when it’s the right time.”
Jump to April 2024, Telltale decided to toss fans a bone with some new game images. They said, “We’ve been super busy, but here’s a sneak peek.” The pics showed snowy streets, Bigby Wolf in action, and a quiet chat between two characters.
The Reddit gossip also claimed Telltale was in a tight spot and might have to drop the game due to financial problems. But Telltale shot back, saying the game is definitely still happening. Even after a rough patch in September 2023 when they had to let many team members go, they assured everyone in October that development hadn’t stopped.
The journey of this game has been bumpy. First announced in 2017, it had to restart and face delays. After Telltale shut down in 2018, new management picked it up. Last year, we heard it moved to Unreal Engine 5.
Fans believe in Telltale’s promise despite the ups and downs. Originally restarted in 2019, the project faced more delays. But Telltale made it clear, even after layoffs, that the game wasn’t getting axed.
While no release date is set yet, expect to see The Wolf Among Us 2 on Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PS4, PS5, and PC someday.
