In the latest Xbox Partner Preview, 505 Games gave us a peek at their new game, Wuchang: Fallen Feathers.
Set in a mythical version of China during the end of the Ming dynasty, this game is drawing lots of comparisons to Black Myth: Wukong. The trailer shows off some cool magical elements, suggesting that myth and fantasy will be front and center rather than strict historical accuracy. Players will have intriguing powers at their disposal, as hinted at in the video.
Wuchang, the game’s hero, seems to be skilled with a sword. Yet, she’s not limited to just that; she also wields a staff that lets her shoot projectiles and maybe even perform some magic attacks. Her character is a bit of a mystery since she doesn’t speak in the trailer. Instead, we hear from an unnamed foe who blames her for the downfall of the Ming empire and wants payback.
The world around Wuchang is plagued by something called feathering, which causes strange mutations. But here’s the twist: these mutations could give Wuchang extra abilities or transform her into something beyond human. She seems strong on her own, but these powers might be crucial for upcoming boss battles.
Wuchang: Fallen Feathers will be available on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC. And good news for Game Pass subscribers—it’s going to be there right from the start!
